Courses in Ignatian Spirituality
ISI offers various opportunities to learn more about Ignatian spirituality through courses focusing on the basic principles and practices. Course themes include overviews of prayer and praying, discernment, learning about St Ignatius and other Ignatian principles.
Conversation
Spiritual conversation requires attentive listening to oneself, to others, and to the Holy Spirit. It is an experience of sharing life experiences that opens us to a see all things new in Christ.Ignatian Retreat for Women
Again and again in the Gospels, Jesus draws near and asks a question. Not to test or correct, but to open the heart. His questions linger, inviting us to pause, to notice what we carry, and to listen more deeply for love. Jesus’ questions invite honesty, awaken desire, and draw us into deeper relationship.
Come Away With Me is an Ignatian retreat for women who desire time apart—time to rest, to pray, and to be met by Jesus in the quiet. Through retreat talks, guided prayer, silence, and personal reflection, we will listen for how these Gospel questions echo in our own lives today. Together, we will notice what stirs within us as Jesus gently asks: What are you seeking? Who do you say I am? Do you love me?
Pathways to Freedom: An Ignatian Series on Prayer, Healing, and the Work of Forgiving
Pathways to Freedom is an Ignatian series for those longing to pray more deeply, to tend the places that ache, and to discover the quiet, courageous work of forgiving. Rooted in the wisdom of the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius of Loyola, this series invites participants to notice how God is already at work in their lives—meeting them with mercy, truth, and a freedom that unfolds over time.
The Art of Companioning: Ignatian Insights for Spiritual Directors
At the heart of spiritual direction lies the sacred art of companioning—walking with another as God labors within their story. Drawing from the Ignatian tradition, this workshop offers spiritual directors an opportunity to reflect more deeply on the interior dispositions, practices, and graces that shape faithful accompaniment.
Through prayer, reflection, and guided conversation, participants will explore themes such as presence and reverence, listening beneath words, discerning the movements of consolation and desolation, and trusting the freedom of the Holy Spirit. Attention will be given not only to what we do as spiritual directors, but who we are becoming in the act of companioning.
Prayer in Practice
ISI's Prayer in Practice offers a monthly opportunity to join an online guided meditation: a chance to meet, pray, listen, and speak from the heart. The forty-five minute prayer sessions will meet via Zoom at noon (Central Time) the first Friday of each month.
Workshop: Giving Witness
This practicum is designed to form lay persons, Jesuits, priests, religious sisters and brothers, involved in or moving into the ministries of parish missions, days of reflection, or preached retreats rooted in the Ignatian spiritual tradition. The practicum will be held Monday, June 8 - Friday, June 12, 2026. Early bird registration deadline February 27, 2026.
Spiritual Companioning
The Ignatian Spirituality Institute is privileged to work with several Ignatian spiritual companions. Through our application and interview processes, we are sometimes able to help seekers and directors find one another.
