Courses in Ignatian Spirituality
ISI offers various opportunities to learn more about Ignatian spirituality through courses focusing on the basic principles and practices. Course themes include overviews of prayer and praying, discernment, learning about St Ignatius and other Ignatian principles.
Conversation
Spiritual conversation requires attentive listening to oneself, to others, and to the Holy Spirit. It is an experience of sharing life experiences that opens us to a see all things new in Christ.
The Listening Heart: An Ignatian Formation in Spiritual Accompaniment
The Listening Heart is a two-year formation program offered by the Ignatian Spirituality Institute for those who feel called and desire to enter the ministry of spiritual companioning. Offered online, with a required residency retreat each year, the program invites participants into a sustained process of learning, prayer, reflection, and personal growth.
More than the development of skills, this is a formation of the heart. At ISI formation is experiential, rooted not only in the study of Ignatian spirituality but in the lived experience of prayer, personal reflection, shared conversation, and the practice of spiritual accompaniment.

Discernment is at the heart of the Ignatian tradition. It is the prayerful work of becoming attentive to the movements within us, learning to recognize the ways the Spirit is at work, and growing in the freedom to respond. For the spiritual director, this raises an important question: How do we accompany another person as they discern?
Prayer in Practice
ISI's Prayer in Practice offers a monthly opportunity to join an online guided meditation: a chance to meet, pray, listen, and speak from the heart. The forty-five minute prayer sessions will meet via Zoom at noon (Central Time) the first Friday of each month.
Spiritual Companioning
The Ignatian Spirituality Institute is privileged to work with several Ignatian spiritual companions. Through our application and interview processes, we are sometimes able to help seekers and directors find one another.
