retreat finding Christ in the world

Finding Christ in the World

Do you desire to know - not just know about - God? Many people truly work hard at their faith---attending Mass, praying the prayers of the Church, participating in bible studies and faith formation groups, volunteering and giving generously. Yet, many feel adrift and unclear why they are doing it and, somewhat frustratingly, they aren't gaining what they want from doing it. Perhaps you feel as if you are working hard to make this faith thing happen but don't feel God or know God in the way you desire.  Where is God at work in your life, here and now? How is God loving you and those you love? You may recognize these feelings and yearnings. If so, Finding Christ in the World is a retreat for you.

Maybe you are a person who has a sense of wanting something different, something more alive, in your faith. You may not be sure what this means but you know you have a desire for a clearer, perhaps deeper, relationship with your God. This retreat in daily life begins in your yearning to know and love God better, to know more clearly where you are, and have a real love of Jesus Christ and his people.

A retreat is a prayer experience. It is meant to invite you to see where and how God is concretely coming into your life. Finding Christ in the World is a serious retreat but far from dull. You will pray daily with the retreat materials and meet weekly in a small group with others making the retreat. Members of the small group have spiritual conversation around what is happening in your prayer and life, and where the two are intersecting. Your group will have the guidance of a spiritual companion with long experience in Ignatian Spirituality and formation in spiritual retreat direction.

Just as every spiritual adventure requires, The Finding Christ in the World retreat requires commitment to prayer, reflection, and those with whom you are traveling. In this adventure you will be finding out what you are really doing, identifying your experience of God, and what our Creator Lord is doing in you, with you, for you, and among us all.
